We are very excited to announce that our most recent project at 45 Wangaratta Street, Richmond has won a 2021 National Architecture Award for Commercial Architecture. This award complements the 2021 Victorian AIA Award for Commercial Architecture the building also received earlier this year. Lots has happened behind the scenes since we last reported progress on our Swan Street apartments – this is just a snippet of what’s happening, beautifully framed by Melbourne local Dan Hocking.

Over the past few months Minicon Construction have excavated layer upon layer of tough Richmond basalt and the foundations are now in place. Works are progressing at a rapid rate as we are coming out of the ground and making headway. With MAArchitects keeping a close watch over progress the building will really start to take shape in the new year.

Throwing back to this snap of the 1.150 solid wood model of our Swan Street apartments. Meticulously made by Sydney based Make Models - if you share our appreciation for great craft skills you can read a great interview with them on Yellowtrace.

Crisp new letters have been skillfully applied to the façade of Wangaratta Street by local legends Larry Stammers of Sign Vision and Gaston the Painter. The site will be home to our future HQ, creative and business spaces and a local coffee place. Follow our Instagram for more shots over the coming weeks.

The end of the construction phase for us, MAArchitects and the rest of the team but new beginnings for the Farmer and Cutter Street townhome owners. We had architectural photography heavyweight Trevor Mein at the site to catch a few images of the homes before we handed over the keys. More pics of the site will be revealed in time, stay posted.

A quick snap the Farmer Street townhouses courtesy of MAArchitects. They’ve been working closely with Balmain & Co checking final details before the keys are handed over to the new homeowners in just a few weeks time.

We just received this render / photo split from MAArchitects following their latest visit to site. We’re particularly enjoying the materials’ characteristics developing as they meet the environmental elements, even at this early stage.

To provide more flexible living spaces in the Farmer Cutter and Swan apartments, MAA designed these custom furniture items that can be adapted to varied daily demands. It’s great to see them in situ at our display suite and see how living spaces can be be re-imagined and improved.

You may have spotted some of our Farmer Cutter and Swan posters somewhere around Richmond, in amongst promo for some happenings a stone’s throw from the site.

Good (signpainted) font meets blue skies and some token Melbourne urban decor - exciting changes coming to this space over the next while.
