Wangaratta Street

Overview

Designed with MAArchitects, Wangaratta Street, Richmond is an energising headquarters hosting a collective of creative businesses. The building has been designed to allow flexibility in tenancy size, consisting of 6 floors of office space ranging from 90 – 289m2, ground floor café and end of trip facilities for cyclists.

Design & Architecture

Conceived as a modern interpretation of surrounding historical warehouses, Wangaratta Street reads as a singular, robust form refined by a contemporary material palette with limited applied finishes. Selected for their quality, longevity and low maintenance, the choice of materials ensure that the building will age gracefully.

Constructed primarily of concrete, the façade is a study of mass and void. The chamfered columns are offset to maintain the façade composition and generate areas of light and shadow in changing light conditions.

The interior of Wangaratta Street is a more refined expression of the robust exterior. Full height operable windows with ‘Juliet’ balconies create air flow and frame expansive views of the city and connect inhabitants to the surrounding environment. Large windows of irregular width expose ‘Juliet’ style balconies at every level.

Location

Set amongst historical factories and warehouses in one of Melbourne’s most vibrant commercial precincts, Wangaratta Street is ideally placed. Adjacent to green spaces and close to Richmond Station and bustling Swan Street, tenants enjoy proximity to the CBD, the MCG and Melbourne Sports Precinct and the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens.
